The principal subject areas contained within the Wolbach Library's primary collection include astrophysics and related topics in physics, chemistry, applied mathematics, geophysics, and engineering.

The primary collection is comprised of materials of all types including books and ebooks, journals, maps, charts, microforms, audio-visual resources, and devices totaling over one hundred thousand items, most of which are discoverable via the HOLLIS catalog.

Wolbach is also the home to both physical and digital special collections including Harvard's Astronomical Photographic Glass Plate Collection
